Lockhart, known as the "Barbecue Capitol of Texas" is a small town south of Austin. In recent years it has become a haven for musicians, artists and the best kind of weirdos. Some were born here and some got on 183 and headed south as fast as they could. This is a podcast that will celebrate the growing talent in this town and beyond and tell you where they are playing next. Whether you are a local, transplant, or just need a soundtrack to go with your brisket, all our welcome.

Steven Collins
Steven Collins has been writing and performing songs for over 20 years under his band’s name “Deadman” and has toured extensively throughout the United States, UK, Scandinavia and Europe. He has enjoyed critical success with Deadman, who’s LP “Take Up Your Mat and Walk” held the #1 slot for 2 consecutive months on the EuroAmericana Chart. Collins songs have a wide range of sounds and style with some being folky ballads and others being stadium rockers. Though the style may vary, the message remains the same in that Collins songs deal with the bigger themes of hope, redemption and the greater human experience. Steven also owns and operates Troubadour Image in Sound in Lockhart, TX where he produces, engineers and mixes projects for other artists, as well as hosts 78644.
